The US Presidential Election 2016 – A British Perspective

The U.S. Presidential Election 2016 has been one jaw dropping spectacle to watch from afar!

I have only followed the headlines and snippets of news and just been amazed at what I have seen and heard.  I think whatever the result the reality of whoever gets into office Trump or Clinton they will neither do as much as they promised or be as bad as they have been painted.

Its amazing that this race all ends tonight, it seems like only yesterday that I watched live news coverage in San Francisco as people rushed to leave work in 2008 and vote in what became a landmark day in American history.

One thing is for sure after all the money, attack ads, investigations and allegations, the most expensive and covered election in history will come to an end and there will be a result!

I will be relying on sky news and the BBC for news and insight and will stay up as late as I can but I suspect my phone will wake me sometime during the night with a news alert of the result.

One final thought, and this is something that I think gets lost. Whoever America decides and whatever the result, this is democracy in action, if you don’t like the other view maybe try to engage and get involved….
